GCSE Results 2025

21st August 2025

Students at Newcastle Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at the school, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results and getting ready to take their next steps in their educational journey.

Newcastle Academy, which joined the Windsor Academy Trust family in January 2024, has achieved its best results in the school’s 57-year history. Students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions.

While all students have done well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Grace H and James S achieved Grade 7 or above in 8 subjects

  • Micha C achieved Grade 6 or above in 8 subject

  • Myla K and Alex T achieved Grade 6 or above in 6 subjects

Collecting GCSE results today, Grace H said:
I’m really, really happy with my results today. They mean I can do the course I want at college.”

Will Trugeon-Smith, Headteacher at Newcastle Academy, said:
This cohort of students is the most successful in the school’s 57-year history. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, responsibility and resilience from our students that is reflected in these results. Their achievements will now help to shape their next steps and I would like to wish them all the best for their future.

“These results could not have happened without a strong partnership between families and school. I would like to thank parents and carers for supporting their children through secondary school and for working with us these past five years. The dedication of our teaching and professional services staff has shone through in these results and they can all take pride in the difference they have made to this cohort of young people.

“Newcastle Academy is unlocking the academic and personal potential of our students by nurturing aspiration, creating opportunity and securing excellence. These results are just the start of our journey to ensure that the aspirations of our students are matched by their achievements. Being part of the Windsor Academy Trust family has moved our school forward and the future is bright for the next generation of young people at Newcastle Academy.”

Dawn Haywood, Chief Executive Officer at Windsor Academy Trust, said:
“I am delighted to see students from across the Windsor Academy Trust family achieve such strong results in their GCSEs today. I couldn’t be prouder of our students and our staff who have worked so hard for these successes.”
